Another Trouble Code... 52

So, before i posted this thread, i did allot of reading and im not sure sure if im doing this right but im at a stand still on what to do. The truck is an 87 toyota ex cab 4x4 that i bought from another member on yota tech. when i bought it, it was throwing two different codes and the truck was running really weird. It was throwing a 51 switch signal, and a 52 code knock sensor signal. I pulled the valve cover to check the mechanical timing and it was off a tooth that would explain the 40+ degrees advanced it was running. I put it all back together with new injector o-rings and gaskets on everything. Got it started and timed correctly and that must of cleared the code 51 because i no longer have it. As for the Code 52 its still there, this is were i get confused i was reading through this

Oil & Water Pump

Well, a simple job of replacing my radiator cap, hoses and thermostat has turned into a water & oil pump job, since there was a lot of play in the water pump pulley, and why not do the oil pump while I'm there.
This is on my 78 Chinook. 20R. I've got my 83 FSM and have looked it over. Sounds like I
don't
need to remove the oil pan or timing cover, like the FSM says to do. Right?
But anyways, any tips & tricks you've got would be nice. I've seen to put some sealant (rtv?) on the upper oil pump bolt, and pack the oil pump with grease.
Otherwise, what should I be doing? What should I use to scrape off all the old gasket, and clean up the timing cover surface?
Thanks!

Removing front seat for car seat

I have a 2002 Tacoma, and as you all with kids know, it's been very difficult to find any sort of car seat that will fit without rendering the front seat useless.. I am wondering if it would be wise or not to remove the front seat to create more room for the carseat on the bench in the back. That way the car seat would have plenty of room, and we would be able to have extra storage space in the front.
Any pros or cons to this idea?
Thanks!

Code 52 wiring to ecu?

I just got a 95 4runner 3.0, 5spd, 4wd a couple weeks ago and am having problems with the code 52. I understand that the problem is either the knock sensor, pigtail wiring, harness wiring to ecu, or the ecu itself. I just recently replaced the pigtail between the intake manifold but not the knock sensor. I tested it for continuity and it checked out as good.
Well i put it all back together and still code 52... It does seem to run better but that might be because of me rebuilding the injectors and putting the vacuum lines where they should go. I can't tell if its running normal as I bought it with the code.
So now i need to check the wiring from the pigtail to the ecu but am unsure how to do that and where the wires and the ecu are/go to. Ive been searching the threads but have not found a

help me biy my first toyota!

K I finally am ready to buy my first Toyota! But I need a little help on choosing, I know I want 4x4, ext cab, manual t case and manual tranny, and that's about it
My biggest flip flop is should I go with an 89-95 pickup or a 95-04 tacoma, I will do decent off roading but no competitions, I like the 3.4 but I could swap that into the pickup, but I like the boxed frame, which I can add to the Tacoma for 100 bucks, but I don't like the Tacoma steering, nor I know how to fix that.. I cam get a good pickup for around 3k and a decent Tacoma for around 5k, some say I can put that extra 2k into the pickup and make it way better then the Tacoma, but I kinda like the look of the taco body,
So what would have better after market support and handle decent off roading better
Also I can an old 91 for a

Starter solenoid connector. Starter solenoid connector.

Is this the starter solenoid connector?
It's a brown female connector located under the intake manifold. If it is the solenoid connector where's the male part of it? I can't get my truck to start and I think this Is my problem. The starter acts like its getting no power at all. The only thing that happens when I turn the key is the starter relay clicks once and the fuel pump engages. I get no crank what's so ever. Can anyone help me?

Rough Idle/Won't Stay Running

I hope this is the right forum for this post. My 3.0 is giving me some issues with an idling problem. When the engine is cold, it starts and runs perfect. After the engine reaches operating temperature, it just shuts off, no sputter, no rough idle, it just dies.
Upon restart, I have a rough idle, and the engine won't stay on unless I am giving it some throttle. After I let it cool down, the issue goes away, and I start all over again. I have tried cleaning out the throttle body but this seems like it is a sensor problem of some sort. Any input would great

22RE keeps cutting out when driving

Today I went to look at a 1994 pickup with a 22RE that was for sale. When I took the truck for a test drive, the engine kept hesitating and cutting out when I was driving, especially when the engine was under a little bit of a load. It felt like someone was turning the key off and on every few seconds. The engine would hesitate for just an instant and then start right back up again. The funny thing was that it idled pretty smoothly, and the problem only occurred when I was driving. What would make an engine do this? I've never seen anything like this before. I ended up not buying the truck, since it had a number of other red flags, but I'm curious what the problem was. I didn't see anything obviously wrong under the hood.

05 tundra A/T Oil Temp Light Flashing? Has A750F transmission

Hello I am a new member here and I just picked up an 05 DC 4x4 128000 miles and while driving it home the A/T oil temp light came on a couple of times but was flashing not solid. The ambient temperature was mild 50 degrees or so and i was doing mixed driving. The light would flash on and off maybe five times then go solid for a second or two. The funny thing is that it only went on when waiting at a light or when creeping in traffic. The engine temp was sitting a little higher than the center of the guage. I got out and the tranny cooler was much cooler than the radiator so i pressed on. It happened at a couple of other lights and when creeping in traffic. Each time it was breif and each time it would go away and stay off as long as i was travelling. The tranny shifted fine 1-5 gears and i

Magnefine in-line ATF filter - revisited Magnefine in-line ATF filter - revisited

Hi guys,
I thought I'd pop in and show you the Magnefine ATF filter I've been running on my 4runner. This is filter number 2
since I added a B&M 70264 external ATF cooler
back in 2010. Filter #1 was in place from 10/2010 to 05/2012 (162,000 to 185,000 miles) and this one, Filter #2, was in place from 05/2012 to 05/2013 (185,000 to 202,000 miles). The filter manufacturer recommends a change every 12,000 miles or 12 months, so I ran long with both of them; I have seen no adverse affects, however.
Here's a quick description of the filter:
Quote:
MAGNEFINE MAGNETIC AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AND POWER STEERING FLUID FILTER
3/8 in. inlet/outlet; The powerful magnet removes 99 percent contaminants at filter entrance; The secondary filter membrane captures non-ferrous clutch fibers and other materi

Headgasket, do I have to replace it if I loosen the head bolts? Headgasket, do I have to replace it if I loosen the head bolts?

Hi,
I have a strange thing, I replaced the camshaft in my 82 PU, and rocker arms. I had to get this motor together and get out of state right away to not miss work.
The number four cylinder's rocker arms (Both intake and exhaust) are off (Too far rearward, towards the cab) about 1/16". Either the camshaft was cast wrong, or there's too much meat on one side of the rocker arms on just that cylinder. Every other rocker is aligned perfectly.
There is no other explanation, as the rocker arm shaft keepers are non- moveable. For the intake valve of the number four cylinder, I could install a washer/shim, but for the exhaust, I'd need to take material off of the rocker to make it match up with the camshaft lobe.
Here are some pics:
Here is a normal, centered rocker:
Intake: (Off center)
Exhaust:
