Is the D600 focusing system as sensitive as the one on the D7000 ?

The D600 was for a while my dream camera and I thought when the time will come I will sell my D7000 and get it but now I have a bit of a worry.
My D7000 has like many other D7000 some AF issues.
It was sent to Nikon for service and that helped a lot but still wasn't perfect, only few days ago I fine tuned all my lenses to the D7000 and I think problem is solved (still need to take more shots to be sure but so far it all looks ok).
I know the D600 has the same 39 AF system as the D7000 and I am wondering if this sensitive system is also acting up on the D600.
I went to Nikon Canadian site and in the product reviews most complaints in regards to the D7000 are about the same focus issues I had, when checking the D600 on this site I didn't see a single complaint about the focusing issues, the

WTB: Pentax Macro Lens

Alright my father's birthday is coming up and he really wants a macro lens, he is looking for a 100mm f2.8 lens to fit his pentax k20d DSLR body, does anyone have something laying around that they might be looking to get rid of, I cannot spend an arm and a leg so I am looking for a bargain if possible. Please let me know what you have, Thanks.

Looking for suggestions about lenses

Hello! I am new here and found this place from Google cause I can't seem to find some Canon lenses options. I need help.
I currently have Canon EOS 350D but I am about to buy Canon EOS 7D this month. Since I was told that Canon doesn't have good kit lenses I am willing to buy lens that would replace my current kit lens.
I have to say I already have telephoto lens (75-300mm) so I am not looking another telephoto lens or lens that goes into this range. I also have 50mm lens so I am good with it also. I am not looking for fixed lens (without zooming) cause since I don't take photos in studios or in one place, that would be too much of lens changing.
As I said I am not taking pics in studios. I am walking with my cam around, sometimes even whole day. I take pics of events (mostly outdoors), ar

Need advice? 100mm Macro IS lens? when I have a 70-200 f2.8 L lens.

Hi, I am self taught and am wondering about these macro lens and am now confused. I have the 70-200 lens and absolutely love it. But I have received a $900 voucher for a camera store and am looking at the 100mm, but is this similiar to the 70-200, or being that its a true macro, I would get more detail in my shops, any advice would be appreciated.

The Ghost Forest of Neskowin, Oregon - C & C Welcome The Ghost Forest of Neskowin, Oregon - C & C Welcome

I stayed out at a beach house right on The Ghost Forest this weekend and got a few shots. It was pretty bizarre to see these stumps sticking up out of the sand.
“The stumps of the Ghost Forest have been estimated at approximately 2000 years old, and when they were alive, the trees are thought to have stood 150-200 feet high.”
Interesting story of the forest:

Flying with a tripod

I will be doing some domestic and international travel this year. I have an expensive Gitzo carbon fiber tripod that I want to bring with me. It the old days I would carry it on with me but I think that is not permitted today. I always carry my camera bag on but wonder what I should do with my tripod.

Sony A99 delayed timer with HDR/BKT

I bought a A99 and it's a great camera!
However, setting the camera up for shooting HDR on a tripod seems to miss one important thing - the ability to set the camera on a timer (2 or 10 seconds) while being in HDR- or Bracketing-mode. Meaning there's a risk of blurry pictures because the camera fires as soon as you touch the shutter-release.
I haven't got a wireless remote, but to activate the wireless setting in the camera, disables the shutterrelease-delay.
Did I miss something in using this camera? any advice?

AMD vs i7 and more

Hi folks,
I'm sorry to be such a 'rara avis' on TPF, but now I'm faced with a dilemma...
I'm in the process of buying a new computer(pc) and I go back and forth between an ASUS with an AMD A10 processor and an ASUS with an i7 processor. As I am using PS CS6 on the new computer, will I see a big difference in the processing speed between these two?
Also, the ASUS with AMD chip has a 2G Radeon HD 7730 graphic card while the ASUS with the Intel 7 chip has a Nvidia GeForce GT635M graphic card. I've heard that the AMD won't handle Adobe Illustrator, which is no bigloss for me right now, I don't use it.
Any thoughts from y'all pros out here will be appreciated. :hail:
Thanks in advance.

Cooly Rocks On festival Cooly Rocks On festival

I made it to the Cooly Rocks On (A.K.A. Wintersun) festival on Sunday, barely. I arrived at 4:00pm, the sun was almost down (sets at 5:00) and I was rushing around like a madman trying to get shots. There was ALOT of cars, live music, and a market-place, unfortunately I only had time for the cars. Most of them were taken with the 70-200 f4 L, a couple with the 50mm. I wish I had taken a step back on a lot of shots or swapped to the 50, I cropped a little too tight at times. It was my first time photographing cars so I learned a few things and can't wait to go again next year.
Heres a half dozen shots:

First self-portrait! First self-portrait!

I've spent a lot of time behind cameras over the years, but I've never taken a self-portrait. I thought I'd change that last night. It's not a final edit, so any CC is welcome, but I thought it in good enough shape to share :) Taken across 4 hours, and more than 450 frames.
Sounds odd to say about a self portrait, but I hope you enjoy it! I'd love to hear your thoughts!
