Father’s Day Games to Play Father’s Day Games to Play

Father’s Day is approaching. Are you ready to celebrate our Heavenly Father and earthly Dads? What better way to add to the fun than to offer Father’s Day games to play with your kids. I’ve rounded up four, low-cost games that will help you fill in the gaps of your lesson.
“Father, May I?”
This game is a retake of an old favorite, “Mother, May I?” Kids line up on one side of the room while the “father” stands on the other. The “father” gives instructions to each individual, leading them across the finish line, slowly. Before the kid can step (crab walk, bunny hop or skip) forward, he must say, “Father, May I?” If he doesn’t he goes all the way back to the finish line. The child that crosses is first is the winner and becomes the new “father.”

Father’s Day Craft Ideas Father’s Day Craft Ideas

Father’s Day is coming up quick and so I was scouring the internet for craft ideas. Pinterest is a wonderful gathering place of things put on the internet, so it has become my one-stop-shopping for ideas. I have gathered many different ideas from Pinterest hoping that my work can save you time and energy in finding a project.

These ideas can be used at home with your own children, or used in a classroom at church. Don’t forget about those men in your children’s lives that aren’t actually their Dad. This may be a mentor, an uncle, a Grandpa, or even an elder at church.

Lesson Skit – God Speaks to Samuel Lesson Skit – God Speaks to Samuel

Here is a skit about God speaking to Samuel during the night while he was living in the Tabernacle with Eli (1 Samuel 3). It could be used to review the story and give the children a chance to participate. No props are needed except maybe “beds” for Samuel and Eli to lie down on.

This would be a good review activity when teaching the story of Samuel’s calling as a prophet. Use this material in kids church or Sunday School for an interesting way to reteach this Bible lesson.

This skit about Joseph and his brothers is designed to be read in a Sunday School class. It gives the children the chance to experience what happened without an elaborate stage production. If you wanted, you could liven it up with some props and actions. This would be a creative and fun way to review or learn the story of Joseph. This material comes from Genesis 37 – 50 and offers a broad overview of the biblical story line.

Rachel and Leah: Printable Bible Study Worksheet Rachel and Leah: Printable Bible Study Worksheet

I wanted to give my students a better understanding of Rachel and Leah and so I put together this simple Bible study for them to learn a little more about these two sisters. This Bible study gives a few facts about each of them as well as all of their children.

We did this study at a Wednesday night Bible study, but it could also be used in a large Children’s Church or Sunday School. I wanted to make sure that the children were understanding the difference of these women, so we ended up taking two class sessions to get through everything. I had the children wait on cutting everything out. We actually cut each piece out as we needed it and this really helped with my children who have a hard time reading (and we didn’t lose any slips, either).

Object Lessons on Transformation Object Lessons on Transformation

Object lessons on transformation can help you illustrate important Bible promises like the one found in 2 Corinthians 3:18. The scripture says, “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” (NIV) What hope!
Don’t believe that God-inspired transformation is lost on kids. Children get the concept of transformation–Hollywood’s “Transformers” movies are proof of that but those films are a poor substitute for God’s true transforming power. Another great example of transformation is the story of Moses returning from the mountain with God. His face had a noticeable glow that frightened many people. He transformed so much that he had to wear a veil for several days a
