BLK 2 bedroom Poor Condition

Last week we stayed at our Home Resort BLK. I received my view requested but found that there were problems through out the rooms. The 2nd bedroom bathtub had rust streaming down the wall where the handle was located into the bathtub. The dryer lent catcher was broken (close wouldn't dry), there was burnt spots on the counter top, and the toliets were dirty. The room could of been cleaned better. I didn't want to waste my time during the week to voice my concerns. I think I may make it know to MS of the problems today.

No more Silhouette Studio?

We were just at Disneyland and Bonnie told us that they are thinking about closing the Silhouette Studio! This is such a timeless classic, it makes me sad. I need them around a few more years so I can get my youngest daughters silhouette done!
Here's my post about it if you haven't got a portrait done. They said if they see an increase in traffic, they'd keep them around.

Decided to start planning trip...am I crazy?

Hope you are well!
My name is Amy and, although I have been on here a few years, I haven't posted much and my shy-ness has led to me being a bit of a lurker (sorry!)
Anyhoooo, after deciding to not have a holiday this year, my boyfriend and I have somehow found ourselves researching Florida and now I am hell-bent of moving heaven and earth so we can go this year. We haven't been saving or planning at all....am I crazy?
Realistically, I don't know how viable our plan is....it really relies us on us finding cheap(ish) flights from Glasgow or Edinburgh to Sandford in either September, October or November. By cheap, I mean around the £500 mark each (I may need some pixie dust for *that* to happen!)
We went to Florida for 2 weeks in June 2011 and had the most amazing time. We've been to

Scared of the dark rides...

I have a 4 year old nephew at WDW now. He got spooked on one of the first tides at MK and now he'll barely go on anything. He adores Toy Story and they can't even get him to go on TSM or the Buzz ride at MK. He loved all of the rides a couple years ago but he's just at that age and he won't budge now.
So they're splitting up their party most of the time so one parent can take the two older girls on the rides. They're still having a good time but I'm trying to think of things for them to all do together.
Today they're at AK since there are less rides and more things to just walk around and observe. Any suggestions?

Treehouse Villas on Memorial Day weekend

Dates: May 24-27, 2013
Travel Method: Personal car
Resort: Disney’s Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs
Experience: First Treehouse visit; Multiple DVC excursions since 1997
Was really surprised seven months ago when Treehouse Villas were available for Memorial Day weekend. For a family of eight, SOOOO much nicer than crammning into a two-bedroom villa.
The check-in experience was pleasant and quick out-the-door. We were somewhat surprised to discover that you can only park one vehicle at the Treehouse, the other is to be parked at Saratoga Springs . We knew when we made the reservation that everything we brought had to be walked-up into the villa, so we were prepared and organized! The only other frustration came when we got to the room.....for the second time in a row, we found dirty di

Adding hopper makes ticket non-expiring??

The way it says for a 1-10 day base ticket it expires 14 days from first usage. Then on the add hopper option it says nothing about expiring 14 days after first used. copied and pasted the following, The BASE DISNEY TICKET
This ticket includes admission to all 4 Walt Disney World Theme Parks (Magic Kingdom , Epcot, Disney-Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom) one park per day (i.e. no park hopping) and expire 14-days after the first use. They do not include admission to the water parks, Disney Quest or Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex.
(Park Hopper Add-On Option)
Adding the Park-Hopper Option Disney World ticket lets you come and go as you please through all four Walt Disney World theme parks on the same day or every day for each day of your pass. Park Hopping is an addition

Dvc and adding dining plan...

This will be our first time as DVC and our first time not having free dining. We just can't decide if it is a good idea to buy the dining plan or pay OOP. Do most of you buy the dining plan or just pay as you go? TIA!

Waitlist for V&A's Chef's Table

Was wondering if anyone here knows if there is a waitlist for V&A's Chef's Table? Today was our 180 day mark and there was zero availability for our week. We were really hoping to do this for mine and DH's 10th Wedding Anniversary dinner. We currently have a table booked in the Queen Victoria's room, but I'm thinking for the price it's the Chef's Table or the main dining room where we can use our TIW card.

No EMH of any kind on June 30 or July 2?

I am planning a DLR trip for this 4th of July week. Yes...I know it will be very very crowded, but we will be visiting SoCal from the East Coast for a family event then so we don't have a choice with dates. We are now staying with my sister who lives just a few minutes away so no access to EMHs for us. (Originally I had booked an almost free night at the Holiday Inn on S Walnut and 1 night 20% off at Paradise Pier to get EMHs for 2 days, but we are going with family now.)
So I looked at the DLR calendar to pick my park days.
http://disneyland.disney.go.com/cale...u lt/2013/07/02
It shows no EHM at either of the parks on Sunday June 30 or Tuesday July 2. All the other days of the week follow the regular EMH schedule (DL - Tues, Thurs, Sat & DCA - Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun).
If the DLR website is co

Hot chocolate + mug!

Hello everyone!
On my last trip to DLP (2 years ago) they did a souvenir mug with hot chocolate, and if you had the mug the refills in hot chocolate were cheaper?
Do they still do this? If they do, does anyone know what the mug looks like?

Does anybody have any recommendations or comments about schools in the area? Thanks!

Recent cancellation experience with AirTran?

Does anyone have any recent cancellation stories to share about Air Tran? My friend booked flights for her August Disney trip, but it looks like there is a breakup in process. It looks like his ticket would be non-transferable. If they cancel a round trip ticket, would the fee be $75 or $150, and who would be able to use the credit?
As her honorary travel agent, I thank you in advance.

Akershus Dinner?

I've read almost all good stuff about Akershus breakfast. Can anyone tell me what the dinner is like? Will a kid with a typical kid's tastes (i.e., checken fingers, grilled cheese, not all that adventurous) be happy having dinner here?

ADRs made via website, got everything we wanted!

Well I was up at 5am CDT this morning to secure our 180+10 ADRs for our trip in Dec. Made 7 ADRs, 4 of which we got the exact time we wanted, the other 3 we had to settle for times about 30 minutes to an hour off but still got the places we wanted. Not all of our ADRs were for the hardest to get places but still glad we got everything we wanted. Still took 45 minutes via the website to get them made and twice the website "lost" my login info and I had to login again in order to continue making reservations during the +10 day period. Lots of Click and wait, so good to have patience using the website as it is a slow slog for sure. But was all wrapped up by 5:45am and back to bed for 30 more minutes. LOL!!
My ADRs are
12/7 - Boma @ 8:25pm, wanted 8:00pm
12/8 - LTT @ 1:00pm
12/9 - Sci-Fi @ 6:4

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique $180 package

On our last visit my girls really wanted to go to the bbb, but I didn't make a reservation and there were no openings...so this time I have my reservation set for my girls :) Does anyone think the $180 is worth it? Pricing everything separate seems to me like it would add up pretty close to that amount...with the costume...pics..etc. I do have some costumes already , really nice ones from the disney store, cinderella, sleeping beauty which would be good for my younger ones but my oldest dd wants to be Jasmine and we do not won a Jasmine costume.... and also how long does the appt. last roughly, the girls appt. is at 5 so not sure what to do with my husband and boys while the girls are at the bbb....

Booking the princess makeover

Am I right in thinking that this can only be booked once there in person? With me and dd going 23rd - 277th July I'm thinking it will be quite busy lol! Am wanting to get the makeover and then dinner at auberge straight after. So the timing needs to be right for both. If I book the lunch in advance and then try to book makeover when I'm there they may have no slots. If I leave the lunch until I'm there n have booked the makeover there may be no slots for lunch! Any ideas anyone please? As its just me and dd this trip I really want this for her as she has never done either before. Thanks x
