Comment on A Gay Hike by Luke Bailey

Hey, I’m curious, have you ever considered doing another follow up or another extension on your ”I’m a Christian…” series? I know you did a few, and I loved every one of them, I just am curious as to the impact further down the road since it’s been a while. Best. ~L

Comment on Because. People Really Are Good. by archerBlad3

a few years ago I was working on camp staff at a cub scout camp and the first week had not been going very well because we had too many campers and were still trying to work out the kinks to make things run smoothly (and making sure that everyone got fed, and unfortunately the staffers had to go without on more than one occasion). I had to go out to where the older campers were spending the night to deliver meds and be there in case something went wrong (I was the health officer and someone was covering for me at the main camp). Once I got there one of the dads noticed how run down I looked and asked if I had eaten anything yet and when I told him no he told me that delivering the meds could wait 10 minutes, sat me down in his camp chair and gave me a huge plate of food, and kept giving me

Comment on Love your neighbor as yourself? No thanks. by Svasquez

Love someone as urself will not come untill you have encounter the love of God…In loving God you will understand this of “loving your neighbor as yourself. Even if the other person don’t live you…The verse in the Bible is refering to us not that others should love us for us to love them. We all can suspect, assume, and even judge that others “don’t love us” but the true meaning of this verse is loving back even if u get hurt, loving even u dont get love back. And that is not easy. Iv’e been hurt many times…maybe not like you, but hurt is hurt. And pain is pain. So I invite you to know this God that I know..This God that can show you how to love. God bless

Comment on Because. People Really Are Good. by Jamie

I met a woman and her husband, who was dying of cancer. The woman did so very much for her husband making him as happy and comfortable as she could while he neared the end of his life. You can imagine the hardship of helping someone you love prepare to die and she did so with such strength, grace, and love. To help her deal with this stress her friend (that happened to also be her husband’s cousin) came to the spa that I work at and brought the woman with, paying for her massage. As the woman was finishing her massage her friend came to the front and proceeded to pay for 53 massages – so that the woman could get a massage once a week for the next year.

Comment on Belly-Up BROKE and Paying it Forward by MrsJeek

tigger62077 MrsJeek I filled out the form. I’m having an especially hard time today. I’ve been crying for the past hour. This is exactly what he said would happen if I left him. I’m broke, no job prospects, at risk of being evicted and worried about losing my kids.

Comment on A Fat Boy’s Dog by Wendy Hilt

Loved your story. We had an outside dog in the country and he moved. He just started going home to another house. Always struck me as funny. I don’t have a dog, because in 1985 I got a collie mix with my college sweetheart, who I married and Rudy was in our engagement photo. Seventeen years later my ex-husband and I had to put Rudy down because his organs were not working. I still cry and miss Rudy. It doesn’t go away. I’ve had the best dog in the world and their is no replacing him in my heart. Sorry I’m long winded. Your post inspired me. Wen

Comment on Belly-Up BROKE and Paying it Forward by mamajodi

As awesome as this is I have to ask…..How would someone be reading this if they were broke/belly up? How would they be able to receive the $$ via Paypal if they don’t have $$ for basic stuff? I am a firm believer in karma and paying it forward (and do it daily) but i guess the cynic in me wonders…..

Comment on Just So You Know, I Am About to Die by azureketo

I think it’s great that you are enjoying learning to and riding a motorcycle. Be a smart biker – follow the rules of the road no matter what you drive and you’ll be a “good biker” in my book. Be a snotty ass road hog and I won’t mind filling a pot hole with you when my 2.5 tons of truck doesn’t have time to stop on a dime or have enough space to dodge to miss you like many of the bikers I have to deal with during “Thunder In the Hills” here in Texas…. I have a horn on my truck, and I know how to use it — but even that won’t save the bad ass biker if bad ass biker gives me only inches to spare before plowing the bad ass biker over. It’s a lose lose situation – and one I hate!

Comment on My Four-Year Old’s Naughty Word Spree by JenniferLoganHartman

I have learned, you never say it is a bad word. You tell them they said it wrong. For instance, I heard. Holy Shit and I said no honey you are suppose to say Holy Cow. The response was oh ok, not Holy Shit, Holy Shit Holy Shit.

Comment on My Four-Year Old’s Naughty Word Spree by bassgiraffe

We don’t swear in our house but one time recently I got hurt while in the parking lot of the store. I yelled “shit” and then my 6 year old started jumping up and down in saying in a happy voice, “shit…” over and over again. I stopped and told her she shouldn’t say it and that mommy was wrong for saying it too. She asked why and I explained it was a naughty word. She looked confused but took my word on it and hasn’t said it since. I’m just waiting for my 3.5 year old to say it now.

Comment on My Epic Dating Fail by iktz

My ex boyfriend and I had similar last names. The kind that are odd but common enough, so my new boyfriend had heard them both. Anyway, for the first months new-boyfriend kept changing my last name and was calling me by my ex-boyfriend’s last name… It was sooooo weird being called by my ex’s last name by my new boyfriend!!! Even I after I told him he kept forgetting!!! Now, it has become in one of those personal jokes nobody else gets…

Comment on My Epic Dating Fail by NatashaBrodsky

I have called my current husband, Ryan, my ex’s name. The problem with that is that my ex was a wife beater, a narcissist, and a complete failure at all things life. My parents call Ryan the anti-Jack (ex’s name). He’s that opposite. So it was an EPIC fail of epic proportions. /sigh

Comment on Karma, The Old Woman, And Me by Renaissance Terence

I would not think of it as bad karma for you. I would think of it as good karma for the old lady who didn’t have to go through what you did. You can take it, she sounded like she already had many times.

Comment on Karma, The Old Woman, And Me by elsiechaston

Sometimes I think Karma is just checking to see if we’re really paying attention. What goes around, comes around. It doesn’t mean that it goes around fast, or comes around when you expect it to. Hang in there. When you least expect it, Karma will remember the old lady. Heck, maybe Karma IS the old lady. It’s possible.

Comment on Ummm… who are you? by Leah Marie Pickren Silverman

In college I kept running into a guy I knew from middle school. The first time he said hi and I had no idea who he was. He reminded me, awkward recollections ensued. Ran into him several months later and he said hi… and I had no idea who was AGAIN. Poor guy. I eventually got the hang of it and started remembering his face.
